What Pub should you go to in the Cowes area?

There is a large selection of restaurants along the high street in Cowes but pubs are a little further apart.  I am only going to mention the one's that we frequent.

The Woodvale - Gurnard.

This has to be the best view for a local sunset and is in walking distance if you like a good walk!  Food can be a bit sporadic but there is plenty of space, you can enjoy the sunset, children can play on the green or in the Pirate Ship play area and dogs are welcome.

The Portland - Gurnard

Set on the corner by the Church the food is good but not basic pub grub - advisable to book and parking a little fiddly.

The Duke of York - Cowes

Definitely walkable there - advise the park and ride back ( top tip for any trip into Cowes as home is very much uphill!) - a very popular pub for home cooked food - including delicious breakfasts and burgers.  Tell them you are staying at Somerton and they will look after you.  They have a great vibe during Cowes Week with live bands and dancing on the tables!
